She's been single for a while now but that looks set to change next week for Leanne Battersby when she flirts with solicitor Imran Habeeb on Coronation Street.

Leanne, played by Jane Danson, approaches Imran, played by Charlie de Melo, about a PA vacancy at his solicitors firm.

The pair get along famously in scenes to be screened on Friday, so much so that Imran invites Leanne back to his for a game of Scrabble.

Leanne has previously been married four times (twice to Nick Tilsley) and it's fair to say she's been unlucky in love over the years.

Soon after her arrival on Coronation Street with the Batterby family in 1997 she began a relationship with Nick Tilsley and the teenagers married in secret in Scotland due to under 18s not requiring parental consent to marry there.

But the marriage fell apart when Nick, at that time played by Adam Rickitt, forced Leanne to have an abortion.

Leanne and Imran

Former prostitute Leanne, who left the street in 2000 and again in 2006, started a relationship with Peter Barlow in 2008 and became a mother figure to his young son Simon. But she still had feelings for her ex Nick, who was then played by Ben Price.

She married Peter on his death bed following the tram crash of 2010, but their marriage fell apart after Leanne continued her affair with Nick, Peter had a fling with Carla Connor and she miscarried Peter's baby.

Former Bistro boss Nick and Leanne planned to marry on Christmas Day 2012 but when Leanne tried to return to Peter on her big day, it was called off. But Nick forgave Leanne and they married again in January 2013.

But their second chance at marriage was not to be after Nick suffered confusion and violent outbursts following a head injury and struck Leanne in the bistro in front of family and friends.

Leanne comes down the aisle to have her wedding vows blessed unaware that Tracy has told Peter Barlow about her affair with Nick Tilsley

Leanne's next relationship was with personal trainer Kal Nazir who died in the fire at the Victoria Court flats in 2015 and the following year she fell pregnant from a shock one-night stand with Steve McDonald after he split from Michelle Connor (they were on a break!).

The baby brought her and Nick back together because he wanted to be a father figure to her son Oliver.

But again their relationship collapsed when Steve blurted out that he was the father in front of a packed bistro, causing Michelle to slap Leanne.

Leanne and Kal

Nick struggled to come to terms with Steve being the dad and left Weatherfield.

Let's hope if she does hit it off with Imran, things will be looking much looking brighter for Leanne on the relationship front.

Imran is the brother of Rana Habeeb, who married her fiance Kal's son - so if they get together it means she will be dating her (sort of) son-in-law's brother-in-law.

Here are some of the highlights from the cobbles last week

Well this week something happened that we never expected to see on Coronation Street, but we're definitely glad we did.

Juxtaposed with the horror of rapist Josh Tucker discovering that he's gone blind, we witnessed the absolute joy that is Mary and Tracy performing the famous (I've Had) the Time Of My Life dance from Dirty Dancing.

Some fans were disappointed that we didn't get to see the famous lift, but we're glad the iconic moment was so skillfully left to our imagination.

We were then reminded of wayward Becky Granger when newcomer Abi Franklin grew closer to Steve McDonald after being found with heroin on her after her children went missing.

Josh's hospital horror

There was powerful drama when rapist Josh Tucker was horrified to wake in hospital to find that he had lost his sight following a head trauma from being attacked.

He woke to be told by the hospital that he had cortical blindness, the total or partial loss of vision.

Vicar Billy Mayhew, who was waiting by Josh's bedside for him to regain consciousness, explained that he was the reason that he was in hospital in the first place.

Billy told his attacker Ethan, a man Josh was meeting for a drink, what Billy had done to David and warned that he would become his next target.

Dirty Dancing

Bride-to-be Tracy Barlow and her pal Mary Taylor performed the famous finale from Dirty Dancing, which Tracy wants to be the first dance for her wedding to Steve McDonald, and it was fabulous.

In a Corrie meets Bridesmaids storyline, Tracy road-tested the dance with Mary, who was delighted to step into the late Patrick Swayze's shoes in the florist shop. And her enthusiasm for the task in hand had fans laughing out loud.

Their version of the lift was left to our imagination - but we're guessing it went well because afterwards a breathless Tracy and Mary bundled into the Rovers to tell Steve he needed to brush up on his dance skills.

Abi and Steve

Mechanic Abi might be a wrong 'un but she's quickly shaping up to be a likeable comedy character with a soft side, much like Steve's ex Becky Granger who he married.

And fans couldn't help but compare the two women when she cosied up to Steve after he offered a shoulder to cry on over her despair at struggling to bond with her twins.

One viewer tweeted about the feisty new character: "Abi is 2018s version of Becky."

Let's hope so.

Carla and Peter reunited?

Peter Barlow left his ex Carla Connor uncharacteristically speechless when he told her he still felt a spark between them, and the look on her face said it all.

"That spark's still there between us. It's still there, that same old spark," he twinkled.

Poor Carla was already on the back foot after feisty Claudia Colby asked if her hair colour was "liquorice cappuccino."

Then she had to tell Peter there wasn't a "snowball's chance in hell" of them getting back together after his affair with their babysitter Tina McDonald. Ouch.

Aidan's posthumous return

The late Underworld boss, who tragically took his own life back in May, reappeared in a DVD he made to talk about donating a kidney to his sister Carla.

He moved Alya Nazir to tears with a speech in which he said "my family are the most important thing to me", causing her to rethink the whole idea of keeping the knicker factory which he left to her in his will.

And the classic Coronation Street moment of the week ...

Deirdre Barlow and Wendy Crozier

It's 1990 and Deirdre turned up at the Weatherfield Recorder offices to have a showdown with the woman who'd been having an affair with her journalist husband.

Since he'd mortgaged their house to buy the paper, Deirdre was demanding half of the Recorder's profits.

"Half of it is mine," she raged at Wendy while trying to plant the seed in her love rival's mind that cheating Ken could do the same to her.
