Texas Bank and Trust makes promotions

Texas Bank and Trust announced multiple promotions in March at its employee awards dinner.

Among those recognized were Jane Henry, promoted to assistant vice president and legal coordinator; Rebecca Lynn, promoted to assistant vice president and training officer, human resources; Ashley Hernandez, promoted assistant vice president and operations manager, treasury management; Sissy Stevenson, promoted to assistant vice president and payroll and benefits manager, human resources; Christy Lancaster, promoted to administrative officer and accounts payable specialist, accouting; and Heather Gajewsky, promoted to administrative officer and executive assistant, executive.

Henry began her career with Texas Bank and Trust in 2006 in the lending division and is serving as the bank’s legal coordinator under loan services. Her responsibilities include handling foreclosures, repossessions, bankruptcies, and filing lawsuits on behalf of the bank along with other miscellaneous legal matters.

Lynn has been employed with the bank for the past 17 years, where she has served in various roles in the retail services and human resources divisions, most notably, as a teller, a branch services representative, a training coordinator, and, most recently, as the bank’s training officer.

Hernandez joined the bank in 2013, serving in the treasury management department. Her duties include managing the Treasury Management Operations team and managing the bank’s public fund customer relationships.

Stevenson has worked in the banking industry for 11 years. She began her career with Texas Bank and Trust in the human resources department as an administrative assistant in 2013. She was promoted to payroll and benefits specialist in 2019 and then to manager in 2021, where she oversees the payroll processes and benefits administration for the bank.

Lancaster joined the accounting division of the bank in October 2005, serving as an accounting assistant, accounts payable specialist and lead.

Gajewsky joined Texas Bank and Trust in 2008 in the lending division as a loan processor and a commercial lending assistant for more than 10 years, serving on the bank’s business and professional banking team. In 2021, she moved into the role of administrative assistant to the president and chief operating officer in the executive division.

Learn about ETCOG during free workshop

Members of the public are invited to a special session set 11 a.m. to noon April 29 to learn more about East Texas Council of Governments, a consortium of county governments and institutions from across the region based in Kilgore.

“Join us to learn how we serve as the bridge between federal, state, and local governments, providing the services and support our communities need to grow and thrive,” ETCOG said in a statement.

The workshop will teach about:

ETCOG’s mission and regional initiatives;

Explore how ETCOG contributes to shaping the future of East Texas; and

Connect with fellow partners and ETCOG leadership.

Twenty-five seats are available for the workshop, although ETCOG said if it reaches capacity, another workshop will be scheduled.

SWEPCO donates to Miracle League of East Texas

Southwestern Electric Power Foundation, part of the American Electric Power Foundation, recently awarded $3,000 to the Miracle League of East Texas to support scholarships for children with disabilities to participate in baseball.

The Miracle League is a national organization dedicated to providing children with disabilities the opportunity to play baseball, regardless of their abilities.

“Thanks to the vision of the founding board of directors and the generous support of the community, the Miracle League of East Texas has established a state-of-the-art facility” at Lear Park, SWEPCO said in a statement.
