A Dallas-based real estate investment firm has sold the last property from a three-parcel package in the town of Gates that it obtained just 17 months ago.
Tabani Group, through T Westgate Plaza NY, LLC, transferred ownership of the retail plaza at 2000-2042 Chili Ave. for somewhere in the neighborhood of $5 million. The plaza is anchored by Ross Dress for Less and Citizens Bank.
An ownership group headed by TEI Equities LLC of New York City made the purchase, according to documents filed on Thursday with the Monroe County Clerk’s Office.
Tabani Group established T Westgate Plaza NY, LLC, in October of 2023 for the November 2023 purchase of three neighboring properties: The Shoppes at Westgate, the strip mall at 2000-2042 Chili Ave. and a Starbucks-anchored outparcel. The price was $11.3 million.
The group sold The Shoppes at Westgate for $5.4 million in July, then finalized the sale of the Starbucks outparcel for $2.875 million in February.
Tabani Group has been active in the Rochester market in recent years. The firm bought Elm Ridge Center out of receivership in 2021, then sold the majority of the primary plaza building to Wegman Companies later in 2021 before selling three outparcels in separate deals. Tabani maintained ownership of the portion of Elm Ridge Center that is leased by Walmart.
