On Friday, Transformational Housing in Jefferson City announced a $819,062 grant awarded from the Federal Home Loan Bank in Iowa.
The funds are meant to construct affordable housing to assist lower-income working families, according to a news release. The grant will cover most of the construction costs of the approximately 6,900-square-foot structure.
The property will house six apartments, a playground, laundry facilities, interior and exterior common areas.
Transformational Housing is a Christian nonprofit that provides affordable rental housing and life skills coaching to people in need.
The estimated completion date is the first quarter of 2026.
