Using your tax refund to fine-tune your vehicle could save time, money
WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Think about the things you use every day and rely on constantly.
Your vehicle probably came to mind.
That’s why investing your tax refund back into your vehicle could save you money over the long haul.
O’Reilly Auto Parts has a few recommendations on ways you can spend your refund check.
First, check your engine light. You can get a free diagnosis at O’Reilly to see what is the issue.
Second, test your battery -- that’s another free service at O’Reilly.
And top off your fluids. Now is a great time to ensure your coolant, transmission, brake and power steering fluids are full.
Tyler Gilmour is a store manager at O’Reilly. He explained what you should focus on first if you plan to spend your refund check on your car.
“Brakes. It’s one of the more costly repairs as far as parts is concerned, as well as alternators,” Gilmour said. “Take care of the pricey stuff first because you’re not going to have that money all the time. When you do have it, the best things is to be able to get the parts you need.”
With the fluctuating weather we’ve had recently, now is also a good time to make sure your front and rear windshield wipers are still working. If they’re leaving streaks or smears, it’s time to get new ones.
