Delores Diane “Dee” Lehman, 77, of Smithmill, passed away late Wednesday evening at Colonial Courtyard, Tyrone. She was born in Philipsburg, daughter of the late Tommie A. and Frances A. (Carey) David.
On Sept. 5, 1968, she married Robert F. Lehman at Aiken County Courthouse in South Carolina. He preceded her in death on Nov. 17, 2024.
Surviving are her two daughters, Melissa D. (Thomas) Robbins and Suzanne M. (Michael) Whiteford; four grandchildren: Matthew (Kaylee) Lehman, Anthony (Alexis) Lehman, Dakota Whiteford and Aiden Robbins; four great-grandchildren: Emory, Kristofer, Ellie and Adalynn; four brothers: Lance (Jane), Tommie (Karen), Michael (Corinne) and Scott (Nancy) David; and a brother-in-law, Bill Hershey.
She was preceded in death by sisters: Kay Carey, Kathleen Coxey and Carol Hershey; and a brother-in-law, Don Coxey.
Delores was a veteran of the U.S. Women’s Army Corps, where she served as a medic.
She retired from the housekeeping department at James E. Van Zandt VA Medical Center, Altoona.
She was a member of the Janesville VFW Auxiliary and a former member of Janesville United Methodist Church.
Delores enjoyed doing crafts, sewing, crocheting, paint-by-numbers, flower gardening and reading. She loved to travel and also enjoyed playing bingo and slot machines. Delores had a passion for decorating her home on every holiday.
Her greatest joy was the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren, who were so very special to her.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 23, 2025, at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home Inc., Bellwood. A funeral service, with military honors, will be held at 4 p.m.
Sunday at the funeral home, with Pastor Clare Pannebaker officiating. Interment will be at Allemansville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a memorial gift of wind chimes, as Delores loved their sound.
