MACOMB (WGEM) - The Western Illinois University Board of Trustees approved increases for the school’s tuition, housing and dining costs during Thursday’s meeting.

The board voted to increase tuition by 2% per credit hour for new undergraduate and graduate students. Undergraduates will pay approximately $343 per credit hour next school year, up from $336 this school year.

Since FY2023, the rate has increased by $26.

Housing and dining rates for next school year will increase by 5%. Next school year, it will cost approximately $11,888 for a double occupancy room, up from $11,320 this school year.

Fees remain unchanged at $101.56 per credit hour.

In other action, the board also approved the contract of WIU President Kristi Mindrup, who was named the full-time president in December.

Mindrup is receiving a base salary of $320,000, which began in December. Her appointment runs through June 30, 2027.
