      A state lawmaker is calling for impeachment proceedings against a York County Court of Common Pleas judge who was indicted on federal charges.Rep. Seth Grove, R-Dover, introduced a resolution to empower the House Judiciary Committee to investigate Judge Steven Stambaugh’s conduct and determine if there are grounds for impeachment."No one is above the law, especially those who are supposed to judge and sentence those who have violated the law. A rogue judge who violates the law gives a black eye to all those who hold dear our justice system to be fair and impartial," Grove said.Stambaugh was indicted in October by a federal grand jury on charges that include wire and mail fraud, witness tampering and obstruction of justice.The U.S. attorney said Stambaugh told employees at his law firm to file and collect unemployment during the COVID-19 pandemic, while requiring them to continue working. Stambaugh is also accused of trying to intimidate a witness to give false testimony to the grand jury and lie to law enforcement.Stambaugh is suspended without pay.
