Arizona Softball falls to UCLA in Pac-12 Tournament Semifinals

TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) - Arizona Softball's Pac-12 Tournament run came to an end in the semifinals. 

The Wildcats fell 6-5 after giving up six runs in the fifth inning. Arizona had a 4-0 lead going into the inning.

The Wildcats fell to the Bruins 6-5 after giving up six runs in the fifth inning.

Carlie Scupin got things going in the third with a three-run blast to center field. Blaise Biringer extended the lead to four with a sacrifice fly.

UCLA rallied back in the fifth inning. Maya Brady got things going with a two-run single. Jadelyn Allchin followed that up with a RBI single. Then, former Wildcat Sharlize Palacios hit a two-run bomb to center. She gave the Bruins their first lead of the day. 

Arizona cut the lead back down to one with a solo shot from Olivia DiNardo in the sixth inning. However, the Palacios home run proved to be the dagger. 

The Wildcats will find out their NCAA Tournament fate in the selection show on Sunday.
