Pepsi Jamaica celebrates achievements, plans growth at 2-day retreat

In celebration of its achievements for 2023 and to plan for the upcoming 2024 initiatives, Pepsi-Cola Jamaica suspended operations to host a two-day retreat at the Ocean Coral Springs for their over 280 employees.

Early Tuesday morning of April 9, 2024, the Pepsi-Cola Jamaica team embarked on their journey to the Ocean Coral Springs Hotel for the highly anticipated company workshop under the theme, “Building the Future Together: Rise of the Titans.”

Alberto Ramirez, Pepsi-Cola General Manager, set the tone with a stirring speech: "This trip and event are for you, the team that fuels our greatness every day. I want each of you to recognise the significance of your individual and collective efforts and how they contribute to our shared success." His words resonated deeply, reinforcing the workshop's theme of unity and progress.”

Ramirez continued, elucidating the company's achievements in the past year. "We've achieved unprecedented milestones, from rapid operational expansion to enhancing our market presence. We've installed record breaking new coolers, expanded our fleet, and clinched the top spot in revenue generation for the CBC. Our small island's resilience speaks volumes about our collective strength."

His address underscored the profound impact of Pepsi-Cola Jamaica on the local economy and community.

Chantelle Richards, Pepsi-Cola Jamaica's Human Resource Manager, unveiled The Phoenix Project, designed to uplift employees.

"Our employees are our greatest asset. By investing and developing our local talents, we're fostering stability and security for our team members. Like the mythical phoenix, we rise stronger from adversity."

Her announcement was met with resounding applause, affirming the company's commitment to employee welfare.

Meanwhile, Eisner Blandino, Plant Manager of Pepsi-Cola Jamaica, heralded the launch of a new line, marking a significant stride in the company's operations "We have achieved a monumental feat," Blandino declared, "by introducing a new line in record time, positioning it as one of the most efficient lines within the region. This advancement has substantially bolstered our production capacity."

Echoing Blandino's sentiments, Cassandra Miller, Logistics Manager at Pepsi-Cola, highlighted the multifaceted benefits of this expansion. "In addition to ramping up our production capacity," Miller remarked, "we've also augmented our storage capabilities for both raw materials and finished products. This enhancement empowers us to cater to a broader customer base. Moreover, with the integration of new trucks into our fleet, we are primed to extend our reach to customers across Jamaica."

Anecia Levy, the Pepsi-Cola Jamaica's Transformation Manager, unveiled the company's ambitious plans for 2024. "Our vision extends beyond mere growth; it encompasses sustainability and community engagement. We've actively participated in charity events and environmental initiatives, and we're poised to expand our market reach within CARICOM. Together, we can achieve anything!" Her words echoed the company's commitment to corporate responsibility and regional expansion.

The workshop wasn't all business; it was interspersed with moments of celebration and camaraderie. Dr Teri-Karelle Reid, the vivacious host, led an electrifying talent show, showcasing the diverse talents within the Pepsi-Cola Jamaica family. Shevon Whyte, Drezell Dawkins, Alphonso Harris, and Easton Clarke dazzled the audience, each awarded special prizes for their outstanding performances.

The highlight of the closing ceremony was the recognition of cultural ambassadors, individuals embodying the company's values. Bedard Badal, Javon Salmon, and Kaaria Sinclair received heartfelt tributes from colleagues, their unwavering dedication inspiring all present.

 As Ramirez concluded the workshop, he expressed profound gratitude to the team. "Your passion and dedication exemplify the spirit of PepsiCola Jamaica. Together, we've achieved greatness, and together, we'll continue to soar. Thank you for being our secret ingredient!" With those words, the 2024 workshop came to a close, heralding the beginning of festivities at the Pepsi-Cola Jamaica retreat.
