Cupid Strikes at Club Colette—Education Supporters Show Love for Children

With emphasis on good character and core values, donors understand the value of our books and fully embraced the opportunity to provide them for children in underserved areas of our community.”

PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, USA, February 8, 2017 /EINPresswire.com/ -- EW Foundation, an educational nonprofit providing award-winning character education books and programs for children and youth, celebrated another year’s success with a sold-out crowd for its signature event and musical brunch, BOOKS, BELLINIS & BEL CANTO, held on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at Club Colette in Palm Beach, Florida.

Wearing Italian-themed colors in palettes of lavender-purple and mandarin orange, International Honorary Chair Herme de Wyman Miro, Honorary Chair Gail Worth, Co-Chairs Cristina Ciolacu and Loretta Neff hosted the event replete with a Bellini welcome reception.

Title sponsor, Arthur E. Benjamin, continued his commitment for the second year. Additional sponsors were Laurie A. Rumbaugh Family Foundation, Dean and Raymer Maguire, III, Cheryl and Mark Montgomery, TD Wealth, Gail Kleinert, Meaghan and Robert Pick, Gregory D. Albert, MD, BreakThru Beverage Group, Flowers on Worth, La Casa Hermosa of Wellington, Palm Beach Today International Magazine, Provident Jewelry, MindsiCorp, and MontBlanc.

Students of voice, Anne-Marie Campbell and Summer Foley, performed beautiful arias of opera and Broadway and Opera Singer Jenene Caramielo gave a stellar performance of Puccini’s famous aria, “Nessun Dorma.”

Guest Speaker Principal Raymond Payton shared his heartfelt story and provided a compelling message about the value character education can provide to children and families in underserved communities. EWF Ambassador Summer Foley as the White Queen brought the brunch to a close with her story time rendition of “Once More I Can See” from the musical Wonderland.

Donor-guests included Nadine Fite, Suzanne Holmes, Carol Jaeger, Brandy Lowe, Beth Glass, Suzi Goldsmith, Jeri Meltzer, Richard McCready, JoAnna Myers, Patty Myura, Melissa Parker, Diane Sandler, Carolyn Sasso, Rona and Gary Sterling, Kathleen and Paul Sheridan, Sally and Dom Taglialatella, Grace and Richard Tissiere.

Guests received first print copies of Sip Tea with Mad Hatter, which will be available to the general public on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, iBooks, and www.ewbooks.org by February 21st.

Designed to reach the most vulnerable children and provide pathways for their success, the event specifically raised funds for outreach programs and book provision to low-income communities. A unique opportunity for donors to directly underwrite a book, class, grade, or primary school—with the option to facilitate the story time and book signing—replaced a traditional silent auction. Having doubled their metrics year over year, EWF has benefited over 10,000 children since 2014.

EWF’s book programs serve a dual purpose in these schools (where the unfortunate ratio of available books is nearly 1 for every 300 children), first by providing access to books needed to develop a love of reading, and second, by providing tools to develop valuable social skills to create a very powerful combination for a lifetime.

To underwrite our books and champion character education and literacy in your school or organization, please contact us at info@EWFcares.org or 561.833.0131.
