According to a report from Swedish outlet Expressen, Crystal Palace have been in contact with Copenhagen about a potential move for goalkeeper Robin Olsen.

Roy Hodgson’s appointment has seen the Eagles ascend up the Premier League quite dramatically. He took over when they had no points on the board, but he since led the club up to 12th in the table.

Nevertheless, they are just five points ahead of the bottom three so it is no surprise that Hodgson is hoping to use the January window to strengthen his options – and it appears that a new goalkeeper is on his shopping list.

Expressen reports that Olsen – who has picked up 16 caps for Sweden since making his international debut in 2015 – is on Palace’s radar and initial contact has been made regarding a potential move.

Expressen adds however, that while Copenhagen boss Stale Solbakken is prepared to sell the 28-year-old, he would prefer to lose him in the summer, but perhaps a tempting offer from Palace may help lure him to Selhurst Park this month.

Neither Wayne Hennessey and Julian Speroni have been entirely convincing this term, so Hodgson will be hoping, if he can get a deal done, Olsen – who has played every league game for Copenhagen this season – can help Palace continue their recovery after their terrible start to the campaign.
