Phadrea Parks has been kicked off of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” reality show because of lies she told, Page Six reports. Parks admitted on a reunion episode Sunday that she spread rumors that her co-star, Kandi Burress, wanted to drug and rape another castmate, Porsha Stewart. That didn’t sit well with anybody, understandably. Parks has removed any signs of involvement with the show on her social media and posted a photo to Instagram Monday with the caption “New day, new week!”
Livonia kid to appear on ‘Little Big Shots’
Look for a local face on this Sunday’s episode of “Little Big Shots.” The family friendly series, executive produced by Ellen DeGeneres and Steve Harvey, airs Sunday at 8 p.m. on NBC (Channel 4) and features young children being cute or showing off their talent. Ten-year-old Nash from Livonia will ride his unicycle while juggling. According to NBC, “Little Big Shots” was the most-watched new series of last season. It features kids from around the world who sing, dance, do tricks or are experts in geography, anatomy, or even Shakespeare.
Second McCartney Show added for Oct. 2
Tickets for Paul McCartney’s Oct. 2 concert at Little Caesars Arena go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday, venue officials announced early Tuesday. The show — which joins McCartney’s Oct. 1 show at the new downtown venue — was announced late last week. Tickets cost $250, $150, $99.50 and $59.50 and go on sale via Ticketmaster.com, OlympiaEntertainment.com, at the Fox Theatre and Joe Louis Arena box offices and by phone at (800) 745-3000.
Bob Seger hints at DTE Energy Music Theatre concert
Bob Seger is feeling nostalgic. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer’s website, bobseger.com, has been updated with a simple message that reads, “Starting to feel nostalgic ...” along with a date, June 21, 1996, which happens to be the last time he performed at DTE Energy Music Theatre, then Pine Knob. A picture shows him performing at an amphitheater that looks an awful lot like Pine Knob, though the length of his hair and the styles present in the crowd suggest the shot is from a performance in the 1970s. Several things could be at play here. Either Seger, who turned 72 over the weekend, simply is feeling nostalgic about performing outdoors at the Clarkston venue, or he is plotting a return to DTE. His team isn’t saying which; a request for comment from Seger’s management was not returned early Tuesday.
‘Dance Mom’ star gets jail time
Reality television star Abby Lee Miller was sentenced to one year and one day in prison for bankruptcy fraud, according to the Associated Press. She’ll also pay $40,000 fine and spend two years on probation. The “Dance Moms” star, who announced in March that she was leaving the show, took $120,000 in Australian currency into the United States without reporting it. Prosecutor allege that she hid $775,000 worth of income in an effort to cheat her creditors. Miller’s lawyer tried to get her probation only, arguing that her creditors were paid back after the fraud was discovered.
‘American Idol’ to return, but on ABC
Polish up on those vocal scales, ABC has announced that “American Idol” will return next season after one year off the air. Details like who will host and judge have not been answered, according to the Associated Press. Former host Ryan Seacrest was recently hired by the network to co-host “Live” with Kelly Ripa. “American Idol” originally aired on Fox — it debuted in 2002 — but ABC entertainment president Channing Dungey was quoted as saying it was a “pop culture staple that left the air too soon.”
Imagine Dragons to play Little Caesars Arena
Grammy Award-winning pop group Imagine Dragons are the latest act to be booked at Little Caesars Arena. The multi-platinum band heads there Oct. 19 with Grouplove and K. Flay. R. Kelly hits Chene Park
R. Kelly is bringing his After Party Tour to Chene Park on Aug. 5, venue officials announced Tuesday. Tickets, $50-$150, go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at the Chene Park box office, cheneParkDetroit.com and Ticketmaster.com. Tamar Braxton will open the show. Last month it was reported Kelly may be bringing a sequel to his boffo “Trapped in the Closet” series — which already sprawls across 33 chapters — to Apple Music. Kelly’s last Detroit event was a wild, randy Christmas concert at the Fox Theatre in December.
