Coronation Street's Johnny Connor confides in Rana Nazir tonight (April 25) with his secret fears about moving away to Spain.

Johnny (Richard Hawley) has agreed to start a new life abroad with his wife Jenny, who couldn't be any happier over their plans to escape Weatherfield for good.

Wednesday's Corrie double bill sees Jenny, Johnny, Rana and Kate gather for a family meal at the Bistro.

This gives Rana (Bhavna Limbachia) a chance to get to know Kate's loved ones better – and she's quick to spot tell-tale signs of trouble ahead between the Connors.

When they get a moment alone, Rana points out that Johnny seems hesitant about the upcoming move to Spain.

Realising he can be honest with Rana, Johnny explains: "The closer it gets to the leaving date, the scarier it is. The thought of leaving my family – Aidan, Kate and Carla.

"They might be grown up, but I need them in my life."

With no announcements that Johnny and Jenny will be leaving the show, is Corrie now sowing the seeds for the reason they'll ultimately stay around?

Next week's episodes see Jenny open up to Johnny about the real reason why she's been so keen to move.

In emotional scenes, Jenny takes Johnny along to the children's playground, where she once scattered her son's ashes.

Jenny reveals that it's the anniversary of his death and one of the reasons she wanted to leave the country was to escape the memories. What will Johnny decide to do?

Coronation Street airs tonight at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
